Hirda powder, veldoda seed powder, babbul saal powder and lavang powder are a few natural ingredients used in the formulation of these pain-reliving tablets. The dosage of this medicine is detailed on the label. The pain reliving medicine expires in three years from the date of manufacturing. Dose : One tablet thrice a day at least one hour before meal

Indication : ANALDENT is a pure herbal formulation highly potent medicine for all types of dental pains, bleeding gums and infections.

Procedure :

All ingredients were sieved and mixed in ascending order of their weights and powder blend was prepared by wet granulation and compressed

Justification for addition of ingredients :

  • The main ingredient of the above herbal formulation is clove powder (Lavang B.N ref. 219-221) which contains 15-20% volatile oil of which 85-92% eugenol, 13% gallo-tannic acid, 10% acetyl eugenol, methyl salicylate, methylamyl ketone, carryophyllene, vanillin and furfural. Eugenol (Clove) is used as anodyne (dental analgesic), local pain killer, wound healing and wound repairing purpose. As local application with cotton plug soaked with clove oil having patient compliance, dose variations and entire clove has pungent property is not suitable for patient with severe dental pains. Most of the dental pains are associated with bacterial infections and Clove is having antiseptic property suitable for dental problems.
  • Ringani fruits (Solanum xanthocarpus) as per B. N. is a white variety but as per Sushrut sanhita S. xanthocarpus and indicum xanthocarpus are same. It is having antipyretic and antibacterial activity (B.N. 281-290) contains solacarpidine as a antibacterial agent. The roots and fruits have been used as smoke for relieving dental pain caused by oral bacteriae.
  • Hirda (Terminalia chebula) As per B.N. it is very good wound healing property. It contains tannins having astringent properties causes precipitation of proteins and thus reduces the microbial growth. Astringent property also helps in reducing inflammations and strengthen the gums can be used in dental caries and tooth ache. (BN-3-9)
  • Veldoda seed powder (Elettoria cardamom) contains 3-8% volatile oil, terpinene, terpinol, terpinyl acetate, cineol and is added as flavoring agent and as carminative to prevent the spasmodic action of hirda. (BN-222-224)
  • Suntha powder (Zingiber officinalis) contains 1-3% volatile oil, gingerol and shagol are the main constituents. With warm water it can be used in the treatment of head ache, dental and ear pain and also having antispasmodic activity (BN-13)
  • Babul saal (Acacia arebica) Its bark and fruits contains 12% and 20% tannins respectively. Tannins are astringent and hence prevents oral microbial growth and can be used in loose teeth, oral disorders and gum strengthening (BN-529)
  • Excipients of IP grades required for preparation of herbal tablets are added as per requirements similar to allopathic tablets to improve stability of dosage forms.
